Memoirs of a Goldfish--Lunch Bunch Lesson

I love the book, Memoirs of a Goldfish, by Devin Scillian.  It is a sweet picture book depicting the life of Goldfish.  Goldfish happily swims around his bowl but day by day, new things and fish are added which crowd his bowl.  Goldfish has a variety of feelings and is surprised that while we may sometimes dread and hate things, we would miss them if they were not with us.

After hearing the story, we talked about things we would miss if they weren't with us and things we take for granted.  I have to admit, brothers and sisters topped the list.  The kids loved sharing their stories of how they came to these realizations.

Below is some of their work.
